New Jersey on Williams-Lara

Hopefully Commissioner Aaron Davis will ask the judges what fight they were watching
The New Jersey Athletic Control Board has announced it will neither review nor overturn the ludicrous decision in Saturday’s fight between Paul Williams and Erislandy Lara.
Commissioner Aaron Davis has however agreed to discuss the scoring with judges Al Bennett, who had it 114-114, and Don Givens and Hilton Whitaker III, who scored the bout 115-114 and 116-114 respectively for Williams.
It’s not exactly clear what Davis plans to discuss with the judges, but hopefully he’ll ask what fight they were watching.

I am a huge fan of the sport, however it is crap like this that is the reason for the decline of boxing’s popularity among Americian spectators. If the decision will not be over turned then why is this commissioner even bothering to meet with these judges? I hope he does not think this will release him from his portion of responsibility that resulted in a flat-out robbery from Lara.

Sometimes, the Commission is the problem, as much as the judging.
