Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, Devon Alexander (26-2, 14 KOs), from St. Louis, Missouri, decisioned Jesus Soto Karass (28-10-3, 18 KOs), from North Hollywood by way of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, by scores of 97-93 and 99-91 (twice) after 10 rounds.

Rebounding from a loss to Shawn Porter last December, Alexander was too fast, too relentless, and ultimately too clever for the never-say-die Soto Karass.

The Mexican had his moments and made a fight of it, but Alexander, as expected, presented a puzzle the tough but limited Soto Karass could not solve.

“I pressured all I could,” said Soto Karass, “but I couldn’t do enough.”

“I’m a fighter and that’s what I do,” said Alexander. “I can’t do nothing else.”
