A British clash has been announced by Eddie Hearn for October 7th at the Manchester Arena. Two former world champions will look to rebound from losses and put themselves in a positions to once again compete for a title. It will be a lightweight clash between Ricky Burns and Anthony Crolla.

Ricky Burns is a former three-weight world champion who was last seen losing in a unification bout with Julius Indongo. Burns has “wanted this for a long time.”

Anthony Crolla has rebounded from a brutal beating by robbers to hold a lightweight world title, defeating Richard Abril, Ismail Barroso and Darleys Perez. He lost the belt to Jorge Linares.

This will be a huge night for Manchester native Anthony Crolla as they box at the arena that saw horrific bombings in May. It will be one of the first shows back in the arena.
