Or maybe controversy loves boxing, as Saturday’s fight between defending WBA/IBF super middleweight champion Carl “The Cobra” Froch and George Groves at the Phones 4u Arena (formerly M.E.N Arena) in Manchester, England, made clear. It was the 36-year-old Cobra’s sixth defense of his title. It was 25-year-old Saint George’s first shot at the crown. Froch was 31-2 coming in. Groves was undefeated at 19-0.     To be honest the controversy could of quite easily been the other way round if the ref would of made Carl take a few steps towards him after the eight count he would of stopped the fight because Carl could not walk straight at that point .I don’t think there is any doubt that groves was going over but he should of been given a count after all it was a title fight ,froch is very limited skill wise and wins most fights with his chin which has to be one of the best of all time ?
