Deontay Wilder: Let’s Fight

Deontay Wilder: Let’s Fight
As far as optics is concerned, Wilder’s challenge is more courageous than foolhardy.

If the WBC approves this fight it would set a dangerous precedent by in effect rendering the hazards of PEDs null and void…

We’re not the only ones who would like to beat up Luis Ortiz. Deontay Wilder, whose defense of the WBC heavyweight title was cancelled due to his opponent’s cheating, would like to beat up Ortiz too. But PEDs or no PEDs, either clean as a whistle or dirtier than dirt, Wilder would have danced circles around Ortiz, landing those long looping punches against his plodding challenger. So Wilder has decided he wants to get it on, even if Ortiz is juiced to the gills.

“I will be fighting November 4 at the Barclay Center still,” he said on Instagram. “It’s all up to the WBC. Whatever they want to do with it. I already put in the request that I still want to fight him no matter what, because if these mother f–kers gonna do these PEDs, they’re just gonna do it. So if you need some help with me fine, but let’s make this sh-t still happen. But again it’s not up to me, so we’ll see what happens baby.”

As far as optics is concerned, Wilder’s challenge is more courageous than foolhardy. Ortiz was at his best against Jennings Bryant, and Wilder is no Jennings Bryant.  But the WBC has the last word and if they decide to not defy credibility by green lighting this fight, it would set a dangerous precedent by in effect rendering the hazards of PEDs null and void.

Maybe Ortiz suffers from distorted body image syndrome….maybe he’s just a little like like the body builder that for some off the wall reason targeted his injections on his shoulders…..not his traps but his shoulders. They ended up looking like football shoulder pads that had popped out of the uniform jersey! These PEDS can be a lot of fun….like when Roy Jones almost caved in the entire side of Virgil Hills body with what was nothing more than a look out, get ready, here it comes throw away punch!
