Canelo Alvarez has his detractors, most of whom have been silenced by his performance.

Saturday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, WBC champion Canelo Alvarez unified the junior middleweight title by decisioning WBA champion Austin Trout after 12 close rounds. Canelo has his detractors, most of whom have been silenced by his performance. Trout was the best opponent by far that Canelo has met and he fought up to his competition. His offensive game has always been fine, but there were defensive liabilities which Canelo has corrected. He is a work in progress and he is progressing quite well, as Saturday’s fight against Austin Trout revealed.     not an unfair decision…....alvarez dominated…but trout stayed in there….Trout may have lost the bout….but there was no dog in him…
    same fight in another town may have given it a draw…
