When Floyd Mayweather fought Genaro Hernandez at the Las Vegas Hilton on Oct. 3, 1998, Chicanito held the WBC super flyweight title. He won the title a year and half earlier from the great Azumah Nelson, and his record stood at 38-1-1, his only loss coming against Oscar De La Hoya in 1995.
