“You ain’t gonna see no lay down like Bernard Hopkins did. I will be there to kick his ass."

James “Lights Out” Toney, with his old-school record of 73-6-3, has packed his bags, grabbed his passport and visa, and is headed for Russia.

In a career that has had more ups and downs than an elevator in the Empire State Building, the 43-year-old Toney has lost weight, if not confidence and bluster, and is ready to get it on with the WBA’s #1 cruiserweight contender, Denis Lebedev (28-1), at the Khodynka Ice Palace in Moscow on Nov. 4.

After a flirtation with MMA, which ended as many flirtations do (badly), Toney is back to doing what he does best. He says he’s in terrific shape and ready to give the 32-year-old Lebedev a boxing lesson.

The former middleweight, super middleweight and cruiserweight champion said, “You ain’t gonna see no lay down like Bernard Hopkins did. I will be there to kick his ass right in front of his people. He likes to wait until fighters from my generation (Roy Jones Jr.) get old and that’s made him feel like he can fight. But I’m going to show him what a big mistake he made thinking he can pull that with me.”

Never mind kicking his ass, James - just chuck him over your shoulder or hit him in the kneecaps. People will be yakking about it for weeks.

Lights Out can get down to 200?  Or did he get a special Russian waiver?
