Is Miguel Cotto A New Sparring Partner Of Manny Pacquiao?
On October 5, 2013, Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto defeated Delvin Rodriguez via TKO in the 3rd round at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
After his impressive comeback, Cotto is now rumored as a new sparring partner of great Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao. However, both fighters had a bitter rivalry in the past. For the Puerto Rican superstar, this would be another story as he suffered a humiliating loss in the hands of Pacquiao on November 14, 2009 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the exclusive interview with trainer Freddie Roach, he said, “They are good friends now, so I’m not sure how hard they’ll go.”
For Manny Pacquiao, I think nothing is personal as he always said to the public, “I’m just doing my job and that is, to give the audience the most exciting fight in boxing.” I think it’s true. We’d seen the battle of Pacquiao and Cotto, both fought each other to the end. That’s why it was one of the greatest fights ever in history of boxing. Especially, for Miguel Cotto, who was beaten badly by Pacquiao. Yet in that bout, he had shown the heart of a lion until the referee halted the contest in the last round. And for those who watched the event, Cotto deserved a huge respect.
But the frequently asked questions by most boxing fans, how true is the statement of trainer Freddie Roach? Is Pacquiao now a friend with Miguel Cotto? Well, let’s find out in coming days if these two future hall of fame boxers work well together and move on to face the new challenges in boxing.
