TMZ has a pet boxing celebrity. The pet boxing celebrity’s name is Floyd Mayweather and he has transcended boxing…

TMZ might be the bottom of the barrel. It might be the tops of the pops. It gives us breaking news at breakneck speed. Its roving reporters dog airports far and wide. Its subject matter leaves little to the imagination, but there’s something for everyone, assuming everyone cares about celebrities.

TMZ has a pet boxing celebrity. His name is Floyd Mayweather.

Adrien Broner appears on TMZ, but he’s an also-ran, an afterthought, a footnote to a paragraph of capital letters.

Evander Holyfield graces TMZ, a solitary figure in front of his foreclosed mansion.

Wladimir Klitschko appears rarely. His life doesn’t make good copy, but his celebrity baby mama does.

In TMZ, lifestyle trumps boxing prowess. Mayweather, no less than his lifestyle, has transcended boxing. He is flash, phat and wealthy, Midas beyond his wildest dreams. His success is less a blueprint than one-off, an illustrated treasure map, a flight plan indecipherable to mere mortals. Those who emulate Mayweather, like the aforementioned Broner, do so at their peril.

But along with the good come the bad and ugly. Loved by some, reviled by others, Mayweather is all things to all people much of the time. Money talks and bullshit walks and he and Manny have spoken, on the basketball court and in Manny’s hotel room, and The Fight, with its serpentine, seductive, suggestive gyrations, may be getting close.

A source involved in the negotiations tells TMZ Sports both fighters have agreed to fight and a date and location (Vegas) have already been set.

The source says the formal agreement has not been signed but everyone expects the signatures “soon.” Negotiators are putting “finishing touches” on the deal.

The two sides had been trying to hammer out a deal for a while to square off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2nd.

Manny had agreed to his contract weeks ago ... and it was all up to Floyd to sign on the dotted line.

But now, after meeting in person at the Miami Heat game earlier this week ... we’re told it’s a done deal .. and the two sides will make a formal announcement in the coming days.

Showtime’s Stephen Espinoza says it ain’t so.

I don’t know who to believe, me or my lying eyes.

Floyd, meanwhile, is keeping mum. On vacation, “Laying back, relaxing and enjoying good weather, palm trees and piña coladas,” the I-don’t-have-a-care-in-the-world pound-for-pound king said, “While they continue to lie about making the fight, I’m just going to continue to travel and explore the world on my private jet.”

buglarKing duck mayweather who had beaten his wife and jailed multiple time will never fight Pacquiao. He will always find “TBE” the best excuse. The king and the pawn will only be find in square chess board but not in square ring.
    TBE is scared.
