Kell Brook vs. Diego Chaves
“I've seen some of Chaves’ quotes and it's interesting to see he thinks he can overrun me.”

Kell Brook defends his IBF World welterweight title against Diego Chavez at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England…

On Saturday, October 24, at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England, IBF World welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs), from Sheffield, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, defends his title for the fourth time against Diego Chavez (23-2-1, 19 KOs), from San Miguel, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Aside from the complaining, a specialty among some fight fans, Chaves is, as Special K points out, “a rough, tough, durable fighter who is dangerous.”

Chaves has gone 1-2-1 in his last four fights, with losses to Brandon Rios and Keith Thurman, and a draw against Timothy Bradley, but he comes to fight, comes to win, and is a top 10 ranked welterweight.

“Brook’s not a fast fighter,” says Chaves. “He is easily bothered by body punches, and that is one of our strengths. We’re going to test his punching power too, because the opponents he chooses have not been such great punchers as the ones I have faced lately.”

Chaves has a point, as long as you don’t ask Kell Brook.

“I’ve seen some of Chaves’ quotes and it’s interesting to see he thinks he can overrun me. Fighters don’t realize how big I am and how sharp and accurate I punch.

“I’m looking to make a major statement against him.”

Did they ever get the guy that whacked Brook with the machete in Tenerife…..creepy shit that. For all we know the guy might have been defending himself (@ 3AM in his apartment) from Brook’s aggressive advances.

its a shame Brook isn’t fighting Rios from a marquee perspective ( given Rios has the bigger name) and from sound bite perspective (as Bam Bam is always funny in press conferences etc) however Diego Chaves will be a good opponent for Brook, granted not as good as Thurman or Khan say but still he’s a solid tough guy and he’ll make KB earn the win. He’s certainly the best he’s faced besides Porter so I think that says something and I think Brooks is one of those guys that needs a decent opponent to look good. I actually think despite Chaves losing to Rios stylistically he could give Brook more trouble than Rios who KB would have easily out boxed for 12 rounds
