Resulting from the World Boxing Council (WBC) Clean Boxing Program, bantamweight champion Luis Nery has had a positive drug test result reported to the WBC from VADA. The substance detected is Zilpaterol (which is similar to Clenbuterol), found from testing done leading to his world title fight on August 15 in Japan versus then-champion Shinsuke Yamanaka.

The WBC Clean Boxing Program will begin their standard investigation process, with any further information forthcoming.
