On Saturday, December 2, American 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Nico Hernandez (3-0, 2 KOs) will fight for his first title in the professional ranks. Hernandez will face Hungarian Jozsef “Little Red” Ajtai (19-9, 12 KOs) in an eight-rounder for the vacant International Boxing Association (IBA) flyweight championship. The bout will be the main feature of the “KO Night Boxing: Gold & Glory” event taking place at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kansas. The event will be taped live for future broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

This will be the first time the 21-year-old Hernandez will fight in an eight-round bout. His first three scraps as a pro were all scheduled for six rounds. In the Olympian’s last fight on September 23, Hernandez faced a late replacement in Kendrick “Uprising” Latchman, who outweighed Nico by more than ten pounds on fight night. Hernandez won by unanimous decision.

Ajtai is one year younger than Hernandez but already has 28 professional fights under his belt, including a decision loss last year to two-time Olympic gold medalist and former WBO flyweight world champion Zou Shiming.

Tickets for the live event are available now and can be purchased at the Hartman Arena box office and via www.ticketmaster.com.
