“Give me four months to train,” said Freitas, “and I’ll show this kid what boxing is all about.”

Former WBA/WBO super featherweight champion Acelino “Popo” Freitas (38-2, 32 KOs) may end his four-plus years retirement to fight Michael Oliveira (15-0, 12 KOs) in Brazil.

Although nothing is on paper, the 36-year-old Freitas has agreed in principal to meet Oliveira, who scored a big sixth round kayo over Jose Soto earlier this month.

“Give me four months to train,” said Freitas, “and I’ll show this kid what boxing is all about.”
