After the hotly anticipated clash between Liam Smith (25-1-1) and Liam Williams (16-1-1) ended in controversy, the rematch has been announced. Williams was ahead on the scorecard when a cut, possibly caused by a clash of heads, saw Gary Lockett pull him out. Promoter Frank Warren confirmed a deal had been reached between the pair and he was hoping for a September date. It was also announced that it will be an eliminator for the WBO Light-Middleweight belt, previously held by Smith. Despite the result last time, Williams has to be the favorite and will look to use his speed advantage to win.
