The World Boxing Association (WBA) announced today that their super welterweight world title has been vacated by previous titleholder Demetrius Andrade. Andrade won the belt in March 2017 with a split decision victory over Jack Culcay.

Andrade vacated the super welterweight title because he has decided to officially move up to the middleweight division, and he requested that the WBA rank him in his new weight class. The Rhode Island native had his first bout at 160 on Saturday evening, when he defeated Alantez Fox via unanimous decision.

Instead of wasting time with negociation, boxing should have a better match up process about vacant title or upcoming fight.
