Wilder/Stiverne Speak
Bermane Stiverne made history by being the only fighter to extend Wilder the distance.

“Stiverne asked for it, so he’s going to get it. Whatever happens happens. Ask and you shall receive…”

On Saturday, November 4, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs), the undefeated “Bronze Bomber” from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, will defend his title against mandatory challenger Bermane Stiverne (25-2-1, 21 KOs), from Las Vegas by way of La Plaine, Haiti, a second time.

In their first fight, on January 17, 2015, Stiverne made history by being the only fighter to extend Wilder the distance. He got slaughtered for his trouble and, the bubble having burst, has fought just once since that fateful night, a win over rugged trial horse Derric Rossy.  But now, with Luis Ortiz having blown it again by failing another pre-fight drug test, Stiverne was elevated to mandatory challenger status and this time he’s going down and out.

“Stiverne asked for it, so he’s going to get it,” said Wilder. “Whatever happens happens. Ask and you shall receive. I’m relieved to be getting my mandatory out of the way. At least now I won’t have to deal with that down the road.

“In the first fight, I broke my hand in the third round, and I still dominated. That was a lot of the reason why it went the distance. This time it’s a different day, different time and different fight. This time it won’t end well for him.

“Stiverne will pay for Luis Ortiz screwing up.”

Stiverne was supposed to fight Dominic Breazeale on the Wilder-Ortiz undercard, and now he gets another shot, however deserving of that shot or not.

“I am ready, willing and able to seize back my title from Wilder,” Stiverne said. “We all know that Wilder dodged a bullet in the first fight, but not this time. It was my fault, but I learn from my mistakes. On November 4, Wilder will feel my pain.”

Once again Stiverne will do his best impression of Arthur Abraham and once again get a royal ass thumping!
